Dr. Travis Buxton, DDS
Dr. Travis Buxton, DDS, was raised in Utah where he graduated from high school in 1996 and later married his high school sweetheart. He continued his education at Weber State University in Utah.
After graduating, he moved his growing family to Canada, where he was one of very few candidates accepted to Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry. After graduating in 2010, Dr. Buxton and his family relocated to Bangor to begin his dental career by joining Maine Family Dental Practice.
Dr. Buxton and his family fell in love with the Northeast while he was attending dental school in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They are a close family, and they love Maine for the outdoors, the people, and the lifestyle. In his spare time, Dr. Buxton enjoys spending time in the outdoors, physical fitness, and spending time with his wife and four young children.
Dr. Christine Sullivan, DMD
Originally from Coventry, Rhode Island, Dr. Christine Sullivan has had a passion for dentistry since childhood. Pursuing her academic interests, she majored in Biological Sciences and Cell and Molecular Biology during her undergraduate years at the University of Rhode Island. Along the way, Dr. Sullivan actively participated in outreach projects, including the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy, where she volunteered to provide free dental care to those in need. Now, Dr. Sullivan is excited about the prospect of making Maine her new home, where she hopes to continue her journey in dentistry and contribute to the local community's oral health.
While studying at the University of New England, Dr. Sullivan had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing dental care to a population in need. This experience re-enforced her desire to continue serving communities in need of oral health assistance.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Sullivan finds joy in spending time with animals and exploring the outdoors. Whether it's researching new dental technology or taking leisurely walks and bike rides, she is always eager to learn and immerse herself in new experiences.

Dental Hygienist
Amy has been a dental hygienist since 2012. She has three children. Conner (17), Colby (8), and Madison (5). They have two pets. A cat named Coco and a hedgehog named Oreo. She enjoys camping, fishing and just being in the outdoors. She is a resident of Glenburn and has lived in Maine her whole life.

Jackie is one of our dental hygienist with over 11 years of experience. She loves her job and is very compassionate about caring for our patients. She lives in Winterport with her husband and three children. In her spare time she loves to shop and spend time at the lake.

Dental Hygienist
Amber is a graduate of the Dental Hygiene program located in Bangor at The University of Maine at Augusta. Her love for the dental field began as a child with curiosity and observation at the dental office and of course excitement for the treasure chest full of toys after treatment. She enjoys cultivating a positive and comfortable experience for patients of all ages by providing thorough care and encouraging optimum oral health. When she is not working she remains active raising her son Chandler and her Great Dane Apollo.

With over 32 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist, I bring a deep commitment to patient care, preventive dentistry, and clinical excellence. I specialize in comprehensive cleanings, periodontal therapy, and educating patients on achieving lasting oral and systemic health. Known for my gentle, detail-oriented approach, I strive to make every patient feel comfortable and valued. I take pride in building trusted relationships across generations of smiles.
Outside the office, you’ll usually find me hiking, spending time at our cabin, or off on an adventure with my fiancée and my three amazing kids Maryn, Makayla, and Matthew. We love to travel, explore new places, and make memories together.

Theresa graduated in 2013 cum laude from the University of Maine at Augusta with an associates degree in science and as a DANB certified dental assistant. Theresa has spent the last nine years gaining knowledge in multiple specialties in the dental community. Theresa enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her husband Chris, their son Corbin and their two dogs Nova and Cain.

Hillary graduated from UMA in 2011 where she received her associated degree in science and a dental assisting degree. She loved her job and patients. In her spare time Hillary enjoys a home project, outdoor adventure, or watching her kids Abbie, Brady, Nora and Nason play sports. You can also find her with her two dogs Tripp and Marlowe.

Office Manager/Certified Dental Assistant
Beckey has twenty years of experience working in the dental field. She loves the people she works with – both her coworkers and our patients!
Beckey is originally from Clinton, Utah, and lives with her husband (Dr. Buxton) and her four children. When she’s not managing the office or assisting in the clinic, she enjoys running, reading and spending time with her wonderful children.

Patient Relations/Scheduling Coordinator
Cinda joined our practice in 2020 but has been in the dental field for 17 years. She lives in Carmel with her husband, Irving. She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she likes to go camping with her family.
Doreen
Patient Relations/Scheduling Coordinator
Doreen is likely the first member of our team who will greet you and help you schedule your appointment. With her caring and friendly attitude, you’ll understand why she was voted Miss Congeniality during her senior year of high school. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Doreen is patient-focused and her main concern is that you have a great experience!
Sherri
Patient Relations/Insurance Coordinator
If you’ve got questions about financing and insurance, Sherri is a great person to speak with. She is our patient relations and insurance coordinator and has been with Maine Family Dental Practice for 29 years. When asked what her favorite part of her job is, Sherri said, “our patients!”
When Sherri is not at work, she likes to spend time with family as well as quilting.
The Maine Family Dental Practice was recommended to me by a close friend while I was dealing with a dental emergency involving a cracked front tooth that had to be removed. The staff quickly set me up with an appointment even though I wasn't an established patient. At the time, I was completely devastated and afraid, but Dr. Buxton explained all my options and assured me that I would be happy with the end result.
I have to say that I have had a VERY satisfying experience. Dr. Buxton and his staff are friendly and professional. They have always gone above and beyond to help meet my needs, especially with scheduling appointments to fit around MY work schedule.
Maine Family Dental will surely be my family's dental provider for ALL our future needs and I have and will recommend their services to relatives and friends as well.
